Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in logistics, data analytics, technology, finance, engineering, shared services, and manufacturing, especially around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and major port cities. The country combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle costs are moderate compared with many international business hubs, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular island destinations can be more expensive. Malaysia has diverse food, tropical weather, modern shopping areas, and easy access to islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and the Perhentian Islands. For an internship, check whether the employer arranges the required immigration approval and Professional Visit Pass or other permitted work authorization; tourists cannot legally work. Prepare a passport, offer letter, accommodation plan, insurance, and proof of funds. Public transport is strongest in Kuala Lumpur, while island and smaller-city living may require taxis or ride-hailing.
