Major job markets include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, while regional areas may offer opportunities in agriculture, mining and tourism. Australian workplaces generally value punctuality, safety, direct communication, teamwork and a healthy work-life balance. Lifestyle options range from city living and coastal communities to outdoor recreation, sports and national parks, although housing and transport costs vary considerably. People relocating usually need a suitable visa, such as an employer-sponsored, skilled, graduate or working holiday visa; eligibility depends on nationality, occupation, qualifications and age. Permanent residents can access broader employment rights, while temporary visa holders must follow work conditions. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, tax file registration, banking, healthcare cover and reliable transport, particularly for warehouse work in outer suburban industrial areas.
