Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, cloud computing, finance, engineering, consulting, education, tourism, and global business. Tokyo provides the widest job market and highest salaries, while Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Sapporo offer different costs and lifestyles. Japanese workplace culture generally values punctuality, preparation, teamwork, hierarchy, and careful communication, although international companies may be more flexible. Daily life is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare, food, and public services. Housing and commuting in Tokyo can be expensive, so budgeting is important. Foreign professionals commonly use an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, while highly qualified applicants may qualify for a Highly Skilled Professional visa. Employers often sponsor visas, but requirements vary. Relocating usually involves securing a job offer, residence eligibility, housing, tax registration, and health insurance. Learning Japanese is valuable for career growth and everyday integration.
