Job Description

The E190 Training and Checking Captain is responsible for operating Embraer E190 aircraft safely while training, assessing and checking other pilots against company, regulatory and Qantas Group standards. Candidates typically need an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence, relevant CASA approvals, a current or recent E190 type rating, substantial command experience, and strong knowledge of airline operations, safety management and competency-based training. The role requires excellent communication, sound judgement, leadership and the ability to provide fair, accurate feedback. Applicants must meet medical, security, recency and background-check requirements and be willing to work irregular rosters, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
