Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in aviation, digital marketing, technology, tourism, healthcare, engineering, education and skilled trades, with major employment centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. Workplace culture is generally practical, relatively informal and focused on collaboration, accountability and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to coastal, regional and outdoor communities, with beaches, national parks and a strong café and sports culture. Living costs are high in Sydney and Melbourne, particularly for housing, while other cities may offer better value. Most overseas professionals need a visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, a skilled migration visa or an eligible working holiday visa. Requirements depend on occupation, qualifications, English ability, age and sponsorship. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, healthcare and relocation costs, and check official Australian immigration guidance before accepting employment.
