The Pattern Technologist is responsible for developing, modifying and refining garment patterns to meet design, fit, construction and production requirements. Typical requirements include a qualification or diploma in apparel technology, pattern making or a related field, along with experience using CAD pattern systems and knowledge of garment construction, grading and measurement standards. The candidate is expected to work closely with designers, product developers, sample rooms and factories; interpret technical specifications; conduct fittings and corrections; maintain accurate pattern records; and support efficient, quality-focused production. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, communication skills and practical knowledge of apparel manufacturing are important. Experience with sportswear, lingerie or high-volume export apparel would be advantageous.
