The System Safety Engineer is expected to support safety assessments throughout the system lifecycle, identifying hazards and managing technical risks from design through operation. Typical responsibilities include preparing safety analyses, hazard logs, risk assessments, safety cases and compliance documentation; reviewing system requirements and designs; and coordinating with engineering, operations, quality and regulatory teams. Candidates generally need a degree in engineering, preferably systems, electrical, electronics, aerospace or a related discipline, along with experience in system safety, reliability, risk management or safety-critical industries. Familiarity with standards such as MIL-STD-882, IEC 61508, ARP4761 or equivalent is advantageous. Strong analytical, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills are expected.
