Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality, tourism, sales, events, hotel operations and food-and-beverage opportunities, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in business and hotels. Kuala Lumpur provides an urban lifestyle, modern transport, international dining and shopping, while island destinations offer beaches, diving and a slower pace. Living costs are generally moderate by regional standards, though central Kuala Lumpur housing can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employment offer and an Employment Pass arranged by the sponsoring employer; approval depends on qualifications, salary and immigration rules. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, medical requirements, tax obligations and accommodation before relocating. Malaysia is warm and humid year-round, with monsoon conditions varying by coast, so appropriate clothing and health insurance are advisable.
