Destination Guide

Japan offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, and travel services, particularly in Okinawa, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hokkaido, and other resort areas. Okinawa has a relaxed island lifestyle, warm weather, beaches, distinctive Ryukyuan culture, and strong tourism demand, although salaries may be lower than in major cities. Japanese workplace culture generally values punctuality, politeness, teamwork, hierarchy, and careful attention to service detail. Daily life in Okinawa is slower paced, but some locations require a car and Japanese is important outside international resorts. Foreign candidates normally need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by the employer; eligibility depends on qualifications, experience, and the position. Applicants should confirm visa support, accommodation, transport, health insurance, taxes, and relocation assistance before accepting an offer. Japan is well connected by air, while Okinawa's main island links to smaller islands by domestic flights and ferries.
