Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a Gulf country made up of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the widest range of hospitality jobs. Opportunities are common in hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering, tourism, retail, and entertainment. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international population; respectful dress and behavior are important. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches, and dining, although summer heat is intense and living costs can be high. For most hotel positions, the employer arranges an employment visa, medical examination, Emirates ID, and work permit. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, working hours, leave, and ticket arrangements in writing. Dubai offers an active social lifestyle, while nearby emirates may provide lower living costs and a quieter environment.
