Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, modern attractions, shopping malls, desert activities, and vibrant international communities. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, technology, and finance provide many employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international working environment; modest dress and respectful behavior are important, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle costs can be high, but employer-provided accommodation, transport, meals, and insurance are common in hotel roles. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and residence visa; the employer normally arranges medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and related paperwork. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, probation, working hours, gratuity, leave, transport, and visa terms in writing.
