Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, technology, education, manufacturing, and international business, with Osaka being a major hospitality and commercial center. Japanese workplaces value punctuality, teamwork, respect, careful communication, and attention to detail. Osaka is generally more relaxed and affordable than Tokyo, with excellent rail connections, rich food culture, historic attractions, and lively neighborhoods. Living costs vary, but housing and transport should be considered carefully. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work visa, such as the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services status, and must meet education or relevant-experience requirements. The employer normally supports the Certificate of Eligibility process. Before relocating, arrange housing, residence registration, health insurance, a local bank account, and tax procedures. Learning practical Japanese greatly improves daily life and workplace integration.
