Job Description

The Director of Marketing Communications leads the resort’s brand positioning, public relations, media relations, digital content, campaigns and communication strategy, while coordinating with Marriott’s regional and global teams. Candidates are generally expected to have a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, hospitality or a related field, along with substantial experience in hotel or luxury-brand marketing. Strong writing, presentation, networking and crisis-communication skills are essential. Company Info

Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa is a Marriott-branded hospitality development in Lampung, Indonesia, positioned to serve leisure travellers, corporate guests, weddings and destination events. The resort is expected to combine Marriott’s international service standards with the natural appeal of southern Sumatra, offering accommodation, restaurants, meeting facilities and spa or recreation services. As part of Marriott International’s global portfolio, the property benefits from established operating systems, global reservations, loyalty-programme support and recognised brand standards. The marketing communications function will be important in introducing the resort to Indonesian and international markets, building relationships with media and travel partners, and promoting Lampung as a compelling destination. Exact opening details, facilities and employment benefits may vary as the project develops.

Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with very different work and lifestyle opportunities across Java, Sumatra, Bali, Lombok and the eastern islands. Jakarta is the country’s main commercial centre, offering strong prospects in hospitality, marketing, finance and multinational companies, while Lampung provides a quieter, more nature-focused lifestyle with growing tourism potential. Indonesian culture values courtesy, family, community and respectful communication; Bahasa Indonesia is essential for daily life, although English is common in international hotels. Living costs vary considerably, with Jakarta and Bali generally more expensive than Lampung. Expect tropical weather, traffic in major cities and a broad choice of food, beaches and outdoor activities. Foreign employees must obtain employer-sponsored authorization, normally involving an approved work plan and a work KITAS or related immigration permit. Working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, transport and relocation support before accepting an offer.
