Destination Guide

Maldives resort islands offer employment in housekeeping, food and beverage, culinary operations, front office, engineering, diving, wellness, finance, and guest activities. Resort life is multicultural, structured, and often includes staff accommodation, meals, transport, and recreational facilities. Local Maldivian culture is shaped by Islam, maritime traditions, community values, and seafood-based cuisine; respectful dress and behavior are expected outside resort areas. Life on a remote island can be peaceful but isolated, with limited shopping and medical services compared with Malé. Foreign employees normally require an employer-sponsored work permit and employment approval; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually arrange arrival formalities, accommodation, meals, medical checks, and return travel according to the contract. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, leave, insurance, internet access, and rotation terms before accepting an offer.
