Destination Guide

Australia is a large island continent offering hospitality opportunities in major tourism centres including the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Cairns. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, attractions and events regularly recruit international and local workers, although competition can be strong and Australian experience is often valued. The culture is generally informal, friendly and multicultural, with emphasis on punctuality, workplace safety and work-life balance. The Gold Coast offers beaches, surfing, national parks, warm weather and an active outdoor lifestyle, but rents and transport costs should be researched carefully. Visa options may include a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or skilled pathway, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Secure the correct work rights before starting employment. Relocation planning should include accommodation, tax-file registration, banking, healthcare cover and an Australian mobile number. Public transport is available, though a car can be useful outside central areas.
