Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, retail, technology, education, and international business, particularly around Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and resort areas. Hospitality roles often value Japanese ability, while English is important for international sales and guest-service positions. Japanese culture emphasizes punctuality, respect, teamwork, attention to detail, and thoughtful customer service. Life in Japan is generally safe and convenient, with excellent public transportation, though housing and living costs around Tokyo can be high. Japan has four distinct seasons, extensive rail connections, and diverse food, history, and outdoor experiences. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by the employer; eligibility depends on education, experience, and job duties. Before relocating, candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, housing assistance, health insurance, taxes, and Japanese-language expectations. A residence card, registered address, bank account, and national health insurance enrollment are typically required after arrival.
