Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, events and facilities management. Hospitality roles are concentrated in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, respect for Islamic customs and awareness of Ramadan practices are important. Lifestyle is modern and convenient, though summer temperatures are extremely high and accommodation costs vary widely by emirate. For employer-sponsored jobs, the company normally arranges an entry permit, medical examination, Emirates ID and residence visa. Confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance and flights are included before accepting an offer. Bring authenticated documents where requested, budget for initial expenses and check contract terms carefully. Public transport is improving, while taxis and cars remain common.
