Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in resorts, hotels, restaurants and tourism businesses, particularly in Johor, Langkawi, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak. Desaru Coast is a relaxed beach destination with a quieter lifestyle than Kuala Lumpur, warm weather, outdoor activities and access to beaches, water parks and nearby coastal communities. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English commonly used in tourism workplaces. Living costs are moderate, though transport can be important in resort areas. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work permit or relevant employment pass and should not begin work before approval. Employers may assist with accommodation, meals, transport and documentation. Candidates should confirm contract terms, service charge, housing, medical coverage, flight arrangements and visa responsibility before relocating.
