Destination Guide

Japan offers hotel, restaurant, tourism, customer service, technology, and teaching opportunities, especially in Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. The culture values punctuality, respect, cleanliness, teamwork, and thoughtful service. Kyoto provides a calmer lifestyle, rich history, excellent public transport, and seasonal beauty, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign workers usually need an employer-sponsored status of residence; hospitality roles may qualify under the Specified Skilled Worker pathway or another appropriate work visa, depending on duties and qualifications. Applicants should confirm language requirements, as Japanese ability is often important in guest-facing positions. Relocation normally involves securing a Certificate of Eligibility, visa, accommodation, resident registration, health insurance, and a bank account. Winters can be cold, summers hot and humid, and earthquakes are possible. Learning everyday Japanese and local workplace etiquette makes settling in much easier.
