Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality, tourism, security, food and beverage, engineering, and marine-related opportunities across islands such as Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Lombok. Manado, on Sulawesi, has a relaxed coastal lifestyle, warm weather, affordable local food, and excellent access to Bunaken National Park, diving, beaches, and mountain scenery. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity, and respectful workplace relationships; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Living costs are generally lower than in Jakarta or Bali, though imported goods and accommodation in tourist areas may cost more. Foreign nationals normally need an Indonesian employer to sponsor the appropriate work authorization, including a work permit process and KITAS, before starting employment. Tourist visas do not authorize work. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, insurance, transport, relocation support, and visa responsibility directly with the employer.
