Destination Guide

Malaysia is not one island but a multicultural country with destinations across the peninsula and Borneo. Kuala Lumpur offers the broadest hospitality job market, while Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and other resort areas provide opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, diving, and events. Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences shape the country’s food, festivals, languages, and customs. Living costs are moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and resort islands can be more expensive. The lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beaches, rainforests, and island communities. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored employment pass or work permit, and must meet immigration and medical requirements before starting work. Employers typically guide the application process. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, service charge, insurance, relocation support, and contract terms before accepting an offer.
