Destination Guide

Phuket offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, wellness, marine activities, and retail. Popular areas include Patong, Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Bang Tao, and Chalong, with Chalong known for marinas, island excursions, and a more local atmosphere. Thai culture values politeness, respect, modesty, and calm communication; English is widely used in tourism, while Thai language skills are helpful. The lifestyle combines beaches, outdoor activities, markets, nightlife, and relatively affordable food, though rent in popular areas can be high. Foreign employees generally need a Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit, normally arranged with employer support before or after arrival. Candidates should confirm accommodation, service charge, medical coverage, visa costs, contract terms, and tax arrangements before relocating. Phuket has an international airport and good connections to Bangkok and other Thai islands.
