Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major tourism and hospitality hub, offering opportunities in hotels, restaurants, culinary operations, spas, marine activities, sales and resort management. Life combines busy tourist areas with quieter beaches, local markets, temples and strong southern Thai food traditions. Employees can enjoy swimming, diving, boating, hiking and exploring nearby islands, although costs and traffic are higher in popular areas. Foreign workers normally need a Thai employer to sponsor a Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit; working without authorization is illegal. Employers often assist with documentation, medical checks and relocation, while resort roles may include staff housing, meals, transport and service charge. Candidates should confirm contract terms, accommodation, visa sponsorship, working hours, leave and insurance before accepting an offer. Phuket has an international airport, but island-resort locations may require boat transfers and careful planning for personal travel.
