Job Description

The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, checking, labeling, storing and issuing food, beverages, operating supplies and other hotel goods. Requirements typically include previous experience in hotel stores, warehousing or inventory control, basic computer and stock-management skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records. Familiarity with receiving procedures, expiry-date checks, FIFO rotation and safe storage practices is valuable. The candidate should be organized, physically fit, dependable and comfortable handling deliveries and lifting stock. Good communication, attention to detail, honesty and the ability to work with purchasing, kitchens and other departments are expected. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is also important.
