Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major hospitality employment hub, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, diving, wellness, events, and transport. Patong is lively and international, while areas such as Kata, Karon, Kamala, Rawai, and Phuket Town offer different lifestyles, from busy nightlife to quieter local communities. Thai culture values politeness, respect, patience, and practical service, and learning basic Thai phrases is highly appreciated. Living costs vary: accommodation near Patong is convenient but relatively expensive, while shared housing or nearby districts can be more affordable. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before legally working; requirements should be confirmed with the employer and Thai authorities. Relocation planning should include housing, insurance, banking, transport, and rainy-season preparation. Phuket has an international airport and good tourist infrastructure, though traffic can be heavy.
