Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the broadest hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, events and security opportunities. The culture is welcoming and multicultural, while Islamic traditions shape public behaviour, dress, working hours and holidays. Abu Dhabi provides a modern, safe lifestyle with beaches, malls, museums, desert activities and international dining. Employers normally sponsor work visas, residence permits and medical testing for overseas hires; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm whether the offer includes accommodation, transport, meals, health insurance, flights and end-of-service benefits. Relocation costs, summer heat and higher rents should be considered, especially if housing is not provided. Arabic is valuable in guest-facing and security roles, while English is widely used at work. Always review the written contract and official UAE employment requirements before travelling.
