Resort roles commonly include staff accommodation, meals, uniforms, medical support and opportunities to access Marriott’s global training and career-development programs, although benefits vary by contract and nationality. Destination Guide

The Maldives offers strong employment opportunities in luxury resorts, tourism, food and beverage, marine activities, spa services, engineering, finance and hospitality management. Life on a resort island is peaceful and scenic, with beaches, snorkeling, diving and close interaction with colleagues from many countries. Local island communities follow Islamic traditions, so modest dress and respectful behavior are important outside resort areas; alcohol is generally restricted to licensed resorts. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored work permit and valid employment approval before starting work. Employers commonly arrange airport transfers, accommodation, meals and basic medical coverage, but candidates should confirm all contract terms. Relocation usually involves traveling through Velana International Airport in Malé, followed by a domestic flight or seaplane transfer. Internet, shopping and healthcare can be limited on remote islands, while Malé offers broader services. The tropical climate is warm year-round, with wetter weather during the southwest monsoon.
