Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, sales, food and beverage, retail, technology, and shared services. Johor Bahru is a lively, multicultural city beside Singapore, with generally lower living costs than Singapore and convenient road, rail, and air connections. Malaysian culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and religious traditions. The lifestyle is warm, social, and food-oriented, with shopping malls, beaches, nature parks, and nearby islands such as Tioman and Langkawi available for travel. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval and documentation handled through the company and Malaysian authorities. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, healthcare, tax, and pass conditions before accepting an offer. English is widely used in business, although Malay is the national language.
