Destination Guide

Taiwan offers strong opportunities in hospitality, technology, education, finance, manufacturing, and international business, especially in Taipei. The culture blends Chinese traditions with Japanese and indigenous influences, while night markets, temples, festivals, and welcoming communities make daily life engaging. Taipei provides excellent public transport, convenient healthcare, varied food, and a generally safe urban lifestyle; rent is highest in central districts. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment, followed by an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). Requirements vary by nationality, role, salary, and qualifications, so candidates should confirm details with the employer and Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency. Learning basic Mandarin is valuable, although international hotels commonly use English. Relocation planning should include housing, health insurance, banking, taxes, and local registration.
