Destination Guide

Krabi is a popular base for exploring Thailand’s Andaman islands, including Phi Phi, Hong Islands, Koh Lanta and Railay. Tourism creates opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, diving, tours, transport, events and retail, with English especially useful and Thai language a strong advantage. Local culture values politeness, respect for elders, modest dress at temples and the customary wai greeting. Ao Nang offers a lively but relaxed lifestyle, while nearby islands provide beaches, snorkeling and outdoor activities. Living costs are generally lower than Bangkok or Phuket, though accommodation near the beach is more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before starting work; requirements depend on nationality and position. Employers often assist with documentation. Bring copies of qualifications, passport records and references, and confirm housing, insurance, salary, service charge and visa support before relocating.
