Destination Guide

Fiji offers opportunities in resort hospitality, restaurants, tourism, construction, marine activities, education, healthcare and skilled trades, especially around Nadi, Denarau, Suva and the Coral Coast. Fijian culture is welcoming, community-minded and strongly influenced by iTaukei traditions, Indo-Fijian heritage and Christian and other faith communities. Life is generally relaxed, outdoors-oriented and centered on beaches, water activities, village events and family gatherings, although imported goods and housing can be expensive. Employees relocating for resort work should confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, medical cover and service charges are included. Foreign nationals normally need an approved work permit before starting employment; the employer typically supports the application, and requirements vary by nationality and role. Bring certified documents and allow time for processing. Nadi is convenient for resort work, while Suva offers a more urban and administrative lifestyle. Always verify current immigration rules with Fiji Immigration and the employer.
