Destination Guide

Indonesia offers strong opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, diving, wellness, tourism, events and digital work, particularly in Bali, Nusa Lembongan, Lombok, Jakarta and other established destinations. Island life is generally warm, social and community-oriented, with rich traditions, religious ceremonies, diverse food and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Nusa Lembongan is quieter than Bali and suits people who enjoy beaches, diving, surfing and a close-knit island community, but transport, shopping and healthcare are more limited. Foreign employees need the correct employer-sponsored work and stay permits; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers normally coordinate the required immigration process, so candidates should confirm sponsorship, taxes, insurance, accommodation, transport and return flights before accepting an offer. Indonesia’s tropical climate, motorbike traffic, seasonal tourism demand and cultural expectations require flexibility and respect for local customs. Learning basic Indonesian is helpful for daily life and workplace relationships.
