Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi as its capital. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, healthcare, construction, finance, and technology. Abu Dhabi has a multicultural population, modern infrastructure, desert landscapes, beaches, museums, and a more relaxed pace than Dubai. Islamic traditions influence public life, so modest dress, respect for local customs, and responsible behavior are important. The lifestyle is comfortable and international, although summer heat can be intense and accommodation costs may be high. For most hotel positions, the employer arranges an employment visa, work permit, medical examination, and usually health insurance. Relocating employees should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, probation terms, gratuity, annual leave, and return-airfare benefits before accepting an offer. Employees must not work on a tourist visa.
