Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-island with opportunities across hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, education, retail and tourism. Hotels, restaurants and bars regularly seek skilled international candidates, particularly those with luxury service or specialist beverage experience. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. MRT trains and buses make commuting easy, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Popular lifestyle options include hawker centres, shopping, nightlife, museums, parks and nearby beaches on Sentosa. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, with eligibility depending on salary, qualifications and occupation. Secure a written offer before relocating, check pass requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower, and budget for rent, healthcare, transport and an initial deposit.
