Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf destination rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of hotel and restaurant jobs. Opportunities are strong in luxury hospitality, culinary arts, events, tourism, retail, aviation, and wellness. The culture combines Arab traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respectful behavior are important, especially during Ramadan. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, desert activities, and excellent transport, but accommodation and schooling can be expensive. Employers normally sponsor the work visa, arrange medical testing and Emirates ID processing, and may provide housing, transport, insurance, and flights. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, service charge, probation, working hours, annual leave, and return-flight terms in writing. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are comfortable for outdoor activities.
