Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country rather than a single island destination, with opportunities concentrated in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak. Hospitality, technology, shared services, finance, education, healthcare, and tourism provide employment for local and international professionals. Daily life offers excellent food, modern transport in major cities, tropical weather, shopping, nature, and relatively affordable living compared with many global business hubs. Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak provide island and coastal lifestyles, while Kuala Lumpur is the main corporate center. English is widely used in business, alongside Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. International interns generally need an appropriate employment or internship pass arranged with the sponsoring organization; requirements vary by nationality and program. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, housing, insurance, and work authorization before relocating. Costs and availability of accommodation differ considerably between Kuala Lumpur and resort areas.
