Destination Guide

Thailand offers hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology, and education opportunities, especially in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai. Resort islands provide a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, water activities, and strong seasonal employment, while Bangkok offers better public transport, corporate careers, and higher professional salaries. Thai culture values politeness, respect for elders, modest behavior, and saving face; learning basic Thai is helpful. Living costs vary, with Bangkok and major resort areas generally more expensive than smaller towns. Foreign employees normally need a job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa, and a work permit arranged with employer support before working legally. Applicants should verify qualifications, contract terms, accommodation, insurance, and visa responsibilities. Thailand has a tropical climate, so heat, humidity, and rainy seasons should be considered when relocating. Marriott properties may provide staff meals, uniforms, transport, or accommodation, depending on the location and employment package.
