Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf federation rather than a single island, although Dubai includes the man-made Palm Jumeirah. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, food and beverage, construction, technology, healthcare, and finance offer strong employment opportunities, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Life is international and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches, restaurants, and year-round sunshine. Local culture values family, respect, modest public behavior, and religious traditions; laws regarding alcohol, photography, dress, and public conduct should be observed. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, arranged after receiving a formal offer. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, health insurance, flights, and meals, but packages vary, so confirm all terms in writing. Relocation costs, summer heat, housing prices, and workplace accommodation should be considered before accepting a position.
