Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a collection of coastal emirates rather than one island, with Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah offering many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare, and technology. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, respect for Islam, and awareness of local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, malls, desert activities, and water sports to museums and cultural sites. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical examination, and Emirates ID after hiring; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Confirm who pays visa, flights, accommodation, transport, and insurance before accepting an offer. Abu Dhabi is generally safe and well connected, but living costs can be high. Staff housing and meals are common in entry-level hospitality roles, helping with relocation.
