Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, and hospitality, particularly in Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. Kyoto combines historic temples, seasonal festivals, refined dining, and traditional arts with a calm but structured lifestyle. Living costs are generally lower than Tokyo, although central housing can still be expensive. Japanese language ability is valuable for daily life and kitchen communication, while international hotels often use English. Foreign professionals normally need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by the employer; qualifications, contracts, and immigration approval are required before starting work. Employers may assist with relocation, housing guidance, registration, and onboarding, but arrangements vary. New residents must register locally, obtain health insurance, and follow tax and employment rules. Public transport is excellent, and Japan is known for safety, cleanliness, punctuality, and demanding professional standards.
