Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, education, and international business, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and resort areas. The culture values punctuality, courtesy, cleanliness, teamwork, and respect for workplace hierarchy. Tokyo provides excellent public transport, extensive dining and entertainment, but housing and commuting can be expensive. Regional cities and resort communities may offer a slower lifestyle and lower living costs. Foreign workers generally need an appropriate work visa, with eligibility depending on qualifications, job duties, and employer support; a Certificate of Eligibility is commonly required before arrival. Japanese ability improves employment prospects and everyday life, even when English is used at work. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, relocation support, visa sponsorship, and benefits directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
