Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, facilities management, construction, manufacturing, retail and tourism, with especially strong demand around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor and resort islands such as Langkawi. Its culture combines Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with diverse festivals and excellent food. Urban life is convenient and relatively affordable, while island destinations offer beaches, diving and a slower lifestyle. Petaling Jaya provides good transport, shopping, healthcare and access to Kuala Lumpur, though traffic and humidity can be challenging. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, and should secure approval before starting employment; requirements depend on nationality and role. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm visa, medical, accommodation and relocation terms directly with Marriott and Malaysian authorities.
