Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major employment hub for hospitality, restaurants, wellness, tourism, marine activities, and property services. Resorts in areas such as Mai Khao, Bang Tao, Patong, Kata, and Karon regularly recruit chefs, service staff, engineers, spa professionals, managers, and seasonal workers. Local culture blends Thai traditions, Buddhist values, seafood cuisine, and a relaxed island lifestyle with a large international community. Living costs vary considerably: quieter northern areas are generally more peaceful, while central tourist zones offer more nightlife and conveniences. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit; working before authorization is illegal. Employers may assist with documentation, accommodation, meals, transport, and insurance, but contracts should be checked carefully. Applicants should prepare certified qualifications, passport documents, references, and health paperwork, and confirm visa responsibilities before relocating.
