Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle center. Hospitality opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, aviation, retail, and tourism, especially for candidates with international experience and strong English skills. Qatar is modern, safe, and multicultural, but conservative customs remain important: dress modestly in public, respect Ramadan practices, and avoid public arguments or excessive displays of affection. Summers are extremely hot, while winter offers pleasant outdoor weather. Most expatriates live in furnished apartments or employer-provided accommodation and rely on taxis, buses, or the Doha Metro. Employers normally arrange a work visa and residence permit after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm sponsorship, benefits, housing, medical cover, and airfare before relocating.
