Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the broadest hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, technology, healthcare and construction opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce. Employees should dress respectfully, observe local customs, and be mindful of Ramadan practices and public behavior rules. Abu Dhabi offers a polished, relatively calm lifestyle, modern housing, beaches, shopping malls, restaurants and extensive leisure activities, although summer heat is intense. Most expatriate employees relocate through employer-sponsored work visas; companies commonly arrange immigration processing, medical tests and Emirates ID requirements. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, flights, insurance and meals are included before accepting an offer. Qualifications and passport validity are important, and dependents require separate sponsorship arrangements. Living costs vary considerably, especially for housing.
