Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island country, but it offers coastal living around Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other emirates. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, construction, engineering, retail and technology provide strong job opportunities, especially for skilled technicians. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a large international workforce; modest dress, respectful conduct and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife and desert activities, while living costs can be high, particularly for accommodation. Employers commonly sponsor an employment residence visa, arrange medical testing and Emirates ID processing, and may provide housing, transport, insurance or annual air tickets. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, probation, working hours, leave, gratuity and visa sponsorship in writing. The UAE has hot summers, excellent infrastructure and convenient international travel connections. A passport, authenticated qualifications and a clean employment record may be required for onboarding.
