Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, wellness, marine activities, and property services. Mai Khao is quieter and less commercial than Patong, with a relaxed beach lifestyle, national parks, local markets, and convenient access to Phuket International Airport. Thai culture values politeness, respect, patience, and maintaining a calm manner; learning basic Thai is highly useful. Living costs vary, with staff accommodation often available through resorts, while rent and transport are higher in popular areas. Foreign employees generally need a job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa, and a work permit arranged with employer support. Bring certified documents, allow time for immigration processing, and confirm accommodation, meals, insurance, service charge, and relocation assistance before moving.
