Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities across its major islands. Java, especially Jakarta, Surabaya and Bandung, has strong demand in hotels, restaurants, offices, technology and manufacturing. Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, wellness and events, while Lombok and the Nusa Tenggara islands offer growing resort and travel opportunities. Sumatra, Sulawesi and Kalimantan provide work in tourism, plantations, energy, logistics and natural-resource industries. Indonesian culture values hospitality, community, respect for elders and religious diversity; modest dress and local etiquette are appreciated. Jakarta offers fast-paced urban living, international dining and traffic, while Bali and smaller islands provide a more relaxed lifestyle but may have higher tourist-area costs. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay visa, commonly arranged through the company. Bring certified qualifications, allow time for immigration processing and check current Indonesian regulations before relocating.
