Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak, including hotel, restaurant, tourism, housekeeping, and guest-service roles. Kuala Lumpur is a diverse, modern city with relatively affordable living costs, extensive public transport, shopping, and a large expatriate community. Malaysian culture combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences, with festivals, varied cuisine, and generally welcoming communities. Employees should expect a warm, humid climate and a busy service industry, often involving shift work. Foreign nationals normally need an Employment Pass or another suitable work permit, which must generally be arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work. Applicants should confirm eligibility, salary requirements, accommodation, insurance, and relocation costs directly with the hotel. English is widely used in international hotels, while Malay and additional languages are valuable advantages.
