Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, cafés and events, especially in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional tourist areas. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and work-focused, with strong expectations around punctuality, workplace safety and respectful teamwork. Lifestyle options range from busy city living and public transport to beaches, national parks and outdoor activities. International applicants need a visa with work rights; common pathways include Working Holiday visas for eligible nationalities, student visas with work limits, employer-sponsored visas and skilled programs. Check current requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs because rules vary by passport and occupation. Sydney accommodation can be expensive, so shared housing and budgeting are often necessary. New arrivals should arrange a tax file number, Australian bank account, suitable health cover and reliable transport before starting work.
